Medical Advisor

Opportunity for MSL role with a Europe based Pharma focusing on Onco therapy.

Location - East region & South region.

Job Purpose

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) establishes client medical affairs presence with external stakeholders through scientific exchange and research support in oncology for licensed and non-licensed products in hard-to-treat cancers in metastatic pancreatic cancer, cholangiocarcinoma, hard-to-treat cancers, such as digestive cancers (stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, and cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer), glioma, or brain tumors, hematologic cancers (acute myeloid leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia and lymphoma) and pediatric cancers.

This position is responsible for communicating fair-balanced therapeutic area related, product-related and clinical information to external stakeholders (e.g. physicians, academic institutions, hospital formulary committees), responding to unsolicited requests for medical information, managing communication, facilitating research discussions and bringing key insights from the medical and scientific community to internal stakeholders to guide the medical and product plans.

Principle accountabilities

Major activities

Exchange of medical and scientific information

• This position is zone specific in nature, MSL is responsible for communicating fair-balanced therapeutic area related, product-related and clinical information to external stakeholders (e.g. physicians, academic institutions, hospital formulary committees), and will have core TAEs to be mapped with defined call objectives
• Execute scientific engagement plan aligned with the Therapy Medical Plan.
• Proactively identify and develop long term peer-to-peer relationships with opinion leaders and other relevant stakeholders
• Respond to unsolicited requests from HCPs for medical information (including off-label information) related to marketed client products and pipeline products
• Provide request based clinical and medical presentations to external stakeholders aligned to TA.
• To disseminate updates from scientific meetings and report information of strategic interest to cross-functional teams.

Supporting Clinical Research

• Support ongoing/future Medical Affairs Company Sponsored Studies (i.e. provide country review of proposed research site lists, attend site visits if necessary, provide site/investigator feedback to line manager.
• Support unsolicited requests from HCPs for investigator-initiated trials (IITs) proposals by providing appropriate investigator support as per client SOP as well as engaging with GMPA team on IIT proposals as appropriate
• Develop and support national disease registries and RWE projects for relevant disease areas as needed

Contributing to the organization through medical expertise & market insights

• Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of the latest scientific/medical knowledge in the relevant therapeutic area by conducting literature searches, reading clinical papers, attending conferences, courses and other relevant events.
• Capture and share in-field insights to develop territorial Field Medical Plan and TAE interaction plans, support product, medical and scientific strategy.
• Provide medical and scientific expertise to commercial partners as needed and within regulatory guidelines
• Act as field-based reference point of scientific and clinical expertise for field force and other internal stakeholders (e.g. Market access) through training and ad-hoc support.

Cross functional collaboration

• Create or support the development of medical/scientific materials and slide decks as needed (e.g. MSL slide decks and advisory board slides) and ensure the content is appropriately reviewed and approved as per client policies
• Ensure development and execution of the regional medical affairs strategy and action plan in collaboration with other in field departments (Sales, clinical research, market access)
• Keep medical reps and their managers informed about the latest scientific news in collaboration with medical, marketing & training services.
• Contribute to the development and deployment of the market access strategy at a regional level (i.e., Hospital listings) in coordination with the market access manager.

Complying with external regulations and company policies-rules for a best-in class medical contribution for the patients and TA.

• To maintain a high level of scientific, clinical, and environmental knowledge through courses, self-initiated learning, and attendance at appropriate meetings/congresses.
• To maintain personal awareness and up-to-date knowledge of implications for the Company of laws and regulations relating to medical information services in the pharmaceutical industry.
• To ensure all activities comply with internal and external codes of conduct prioritize patient safety by following all PV-related processes.
• Ensure compliance of all responsible activities to relevant laws and regulations as well as internal standards and SOPs
• Support the company reputation and profile in the field

Patient-In activities

• To support patient awareness initiatives either physical or digital
• To work towards Patient-In strategy uunderstand the patient journey in coordination with TA experts and set up PSP (Patient Support Programs) enabling better patient outcomes as per the local regulations.

GENERAL

ADMINISTRATION

To complete all administration as per the timelines required:

1 Monthly report to be completed and submitted to your immediate superior by the second working day of each month.

2 Expenses to be completed each month and submitted to the Medical Lead by the second working day of each month.

3 All documentation required by Head Office in France must be completed and submitted on time. Approval by the Management should be obtained prior to dispatch when appropriate.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

A] MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: MBBS/MD/ Pharm D

1. Job knowledge:

• Min 1-2 years working experience in oncology.
