Job Summary

3D modeling, additive manufacturing, and mechanical simulations

Key Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling & Design:

  Develop prototypes and product components using industry-standard CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).

• Additive Manufacturing:

  Design and produce 3D printed parts using FDM/FFF technology (experience with Bambu Labs and Ultimaker Cura preferred).

• Simulation & Analysis:

  Assist in performing FEA and CFD simulations using ANSYS or similar tools to validate designs.

• Material Evaluation:

  Select and analyze appropriate materials for design based on functional, environmental, and manufacturing requirements.

• Experimental Setup:

  Design test fixtures and conduct experimental validation and data acquisition.

• Documentation:

  Prepare detailed technical documentation for designs, manufacturing processes, BOMs, and testing procedures.

• Collaboration:

  Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and systems engineers, to achieve project goals.

• Independence:

  Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.

• Experience:

  Minimum of 1 year in mechanical design, prototyping, and additive manufacturing.

• Software Proficiency:

• 3D Modeling: SolidWorks (preferred), Fusion 360, or similar
  
• 3D Printing: Ultimaker Cura, Bambu Studio
  
• Simulation Tools: Basic knowledge of ANSYS (FEA/CFD modules)
  

• Technical Competencies:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (additive, subtractive, and hybrid)
  
• Knowledge of tolerances, GD&T, material selection, and mechanical properties
  
• Experience with mechanical assembly and hands-on prototyping
  

• Soft Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  
• Attention to detail, creativity, and a strong sense of design aesthetics
  
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks
  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Mechanical Design or Additive Manufacturing
  
• Experience with Drones, UAVs, or aircraft component design
  
• Exposure to lightweight structure design and integration
  
• Familiarity with compliance and environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal, etc.)
  
• Exposure to embedded hardware integration in mechanical systems
