Description
The Mechanical Lead Engineer will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team of CAD designers and compliance engineers. You will be responsible for assigning tasks and projects, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality work. Reporting to the team manager of the INOPC PGTR Engineering & Technology team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the following key areas: Lead and manage a team of CAD designers, assigning tasks and projects, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality work. Provide technical guidance and support to team members, reviewing deliverables and offering constructive feedback to optimize performance. Collaborate closely with the brand strategy team to interpret brand guidelines and ensure that CAD designs adhere to brand identity standards. Engage with engineers, designers, product managers, factory SPOC, quality assurance, regulatory, and other stakeholders to align and integrate project goals. Develop and implement best practices, standards, and procedures for CAD design & compliance processes to enhance efficiency and quality. Monitor project timelines, identifying and addressing any risks or obstacles that may impact successful project completion. Mentor and train team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholder communication, providing updates on project deliverables and addressing inquiries effectively. Communicate with the team members and project stakeholders to provide status updates and address any challenges or concerns. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or discrepancies during the migration process, reviewing and approving compliance documentation. Review and verify updated CAD files to ensure they meet quality standards and project requirements. Ensure compliance with relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines while upholding Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity. To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering/electrical engineering or a related field with 6-10 years of experience. Proven leadership experience with a track record of effectively leading and managing teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical and non-technical information. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing requirements as necessary. Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and standards pertinent to the Transformer industry/products. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot CAD-related issues. Experience with 3D CAD modelling tool Creo Parametric, 2D tool AutoCAD, and PLM (Windchill). Solid grasp of engineering principles, technical drawing standards, and CAD software functionality. Keen attention to detail and accuracy, with prior experience in leading a CAD/Brand migration team preferred. Proficiency in spoken and written English language is essential.
