Mechanical Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in the selection of detail engineering consultants for mechanical systems.
• Review, validate, and approve designs, drawings, and documentation for piping, static, and rotary equipment in line with international codes and standards.
• Support procurement teams in evaluating and finalizing critical vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
• Collaborate with projects, procurement, and site execution teams to ensure smooth and timely implementation of capital projects.
• Drive a culture of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the mechanical team.
• Participate in techno-commercial discussions for procurement of major mechanical equipment and systems.
• Oversee and resolve design and installation issues during project execution, ensuring quality and compliance with project standards.
• Plan and monitor spare parts requirements to avoid delays in project execution and plant operations.
• Provide leadership through clear communication, performance monitoring, work allocation, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Identify training needs and implement development programs for team members.
• Ensure a safe and compliant work environment by following and enforcing legal and company-specific safety regulations.
• Provide technical expertise in handling static equipment, rotating machinery, and packaged systems to guide engineering consultants and internal teams.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute.
• 12-15 years of relevant experience in Ammonia, Fertilizer, EPC or Oil & Gas industries.
• Prior experience in detail engineering with leading engineering firms is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in specifications, design, and vendor management for static, rotating, and packaged equipment.
• Proven track record in engineering design and construction phase support.
• In-depth knowledge of international codes, standards, and specifications.
• Familiarity with project phases, engineering workflows, and bidding procedures.
• Sound understanding of safety protocols, turnaround management, and maintenance requirements.
• Crisis management skills with the ability to resolve project issues effectively under pressure.
• Dynamic, results-oriented, and committed to driving project efficiency and cost savings.
