Job Description

Role Overview: You will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installation of equipment in the rolling mill section to ensure minimal downtime and smooth mechanical operations. Key Responsibilities: - Supervise the installation, alignment, and maintenance of rolling mill machinery such as stands, guides, gearboxes, and roller tables. - Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and timely repairs of mechanical components. - Plan preventive and predictive maintenance for mechanical systems. - Handle breakdown maintenance and coordinate with production to reduce downtime. - Guide and supervise junior fitters and helpers during maintenance jobs. - Maintain spares inventory and report material requirements. - Ensure that safety standards and maintenance protocols are strictly followed. - Prepare maintenance reports and communicate effectively with the mechanical engineer/supervisor. - Collaborate closely with electrical and hydraulic teams during coordinated maintenance. Qualification Required: - ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Fitter Trade. - 5-10 years of experience in a steel rolling mill or heavy industry. - Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, welding, cutting, and hydraulic tools. - Ability to handle shift-based work and lead a team. Note: The job type is full-time with day shift and rotational shift schedules. The work location is in person.
