Role Overview: As a Mechanical Engineer in the Research & Development department at Prama Instruments Pvt Ltd, your role will involve conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative enclosures, jigs, fixtures, and machine parts. You will be expected to continuously bring fresh design ideas, challenge conventional methods, and apply creative problem-solving techniques to achieve performance, aesthetics, and cost optimization. Additionally, you will translate ideas into tangible prototypes using CNC machining, sheet metal, and fabrication processes while collaborating with vendors and workshop teams for design realization. Your contribution to brainstorming sessions, feasibility studies, and ensuring future-ready, scalable, and manufacturable designs will be crucial. Moreover, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, taking complete ownership of assigned projects and mentoring junior team members. Qualifications Required: - Bachelors/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field. - 2-5 years of experience in product design, R&D, or mechanical development. - Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD. - Hands-on expertise in sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, welding, and finishing processes. - Strong knowledge of tolerance analysis, GD&T, DFM/DFA principles. - Proven ability to take initiative, think out-of-the-box, and enhance design ideas. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
