Job Description

Power electronics product design Develop detailed mechanical designs for power electronics products, including enclosures, mounting solutions, and cooling systems. Utilize CAD software to create 3D models and engineering drawings. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Skills Details Thermal Management Understanding heat dissipation, cooling methods, and thermal interface materials. Structural Analysis Perform stress analysis and ensure mechanical integrity of components and assemblies. Use FEA tools to evaluate and optimize design performance. Materials Science Choose appropriate materials based on thermal, mechanical, and electrical properties. Ensure material compatibility with product requirements and environmental conditions. CAD Software Proficiency Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modelling and detailed drawings. Manufacturing Processes Understanding of manufacturing techniques and designing for manufacturability and assembly. Mechanical Design for Reliability Designing products to endure mechanical stresses, vibrations, and ensuring reliability. Power Electronics Knowledge: Electrical Principles. Basic understanding of voltage, current, resistance, and power semiconductor devices. PCB Design Considerations. Familiarity with PCB design, impacts of mechanical design on PCB layout, and thermal/mechanical stress. Cooling Solutions for Electronics. Designing and integrating cooling solutions (e.g., heat sinks, thermal pads) and conducting thermal simulations. Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC). Knowledge of EMC principles, shielding, and grounding techniques to minimize interference. Interdisciplinary Skills: Problem Solving. Addressing and solving complex design challenges involving both mechanical and electrical aspects. Communication. Effective communication with electrical engineers, manufacturers, and stakeholders. Simulation and Testing. Conducting testing and simulations to validate performance and making necessary design adjustments. Qualification: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering 5-7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably for power electronics or similar products. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality design.
