Mechanical Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design & Development:

  Create detailed mechanical designs, engineering drawings, and specifications for new manufacturing equipment, Conveyor Design, Pick and Place Automation design and tools using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

• Analysis & Optimization:

  Conduct engineering analysis (e.g., stress, tolerance stack-up) to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.

• Prototyping & Testing:

  Collaborate with the manufacturing team to oversee the prototyping, assembly, installation, and initial testing of new equipment and tools.

• Troubleshooting:

  Identify and resolve design and operational issues, implementing corrective actions to improve equipment efficiency and performance.

• Documentation:

  Maintain accurate documentation of all design changes, engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and project reports.

• Collaboration:

  Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and project management, to ensure successful project delivery.

• Standards & Compliance:

  Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience:

  More than 3 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical design, specifically focused on manufacturing equipment and tool design.

• Software Proficiency:

  Proven hands-on expertise with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

• Technical Knowledge:

  Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, fabrication, assembly).

• Problem-Solving:

  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

• Communication:

  Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating within a team environment.

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
