About the Role

Mechanical CAD Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings for complex mechanical assemblies.
• Ensure design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) across all projects.
• Design and optimize latching, locking, and quick-release mechanisms for assemblies and enclosures.Create parametric and configuration-based models to support design variations.
• Work closely with simulation and analysis teams to incorporate feedback into the CAD model.
• Collaborate with fabrication, machining, and testing teams to ensure design accuracy.
• Participate in brainstorming and concept development for new product and system designs.

Required Skills & Experience

• Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling, surfacing, assemblies, configurations, sheet metal, weldments, and drawings).
• Strong understanding of mechanical fundamentals — tolerancing, fits, fasteners, and materials.
• Experience in GD&T and interpreting manufacturing drawings.
• Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, 3D printing, sheet metal fabrication, molding, etc.).
• Ability to create clean, lightweight, and parametric CAD models for rapid iteration.
• Experience in 3D printing is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and visualization skills.
• Familiarity with PDM systems and version control is an added advantage.

Education

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
