As a Material Expert at Lucy Electric Manufacturing & Technologies India Pvt Ltd, your role will be crucial in the engineering team, focusing on all material-related matters. Your responsibilities will include guiding the team for material selection, preparing material specification documents, staying updated on emerging materials and technologies, and assessing their potential for new applications. You will also be analyzing material failures or defects and recommending corrective actions or material alternatives. It will be your duty to ensure that all selected materials comply with environmental, safety, and industry-specific regulations such as REACH, RoHS, ASTM, and ISO. Your professional expertise will be essential in all aspects of MV / LV Switchgear development activities. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate and recommend appropriate materials based on functional requirements like strength, durability, environmental impact, and cost. This will be measured by test results and cost data. - Conduct or oversee material testing for compliance with various standards and specifications. Your performance will be measured by the number of tests conducted and validation reports. - Stay up to date on emerging materials and technologies, assess their potential usage, and explore alternate materials to achieve optimum solutions. Your success will be measured by the number of new materials introduced, patents filed, and cost/performance optimization. - Analyze material failures or defects, recommend corrective actions or material alternatives, and provide analysis reports. Your performance will be measured by the number of complaints addressed. - Develop and maintain technical documentation, material datasheets, and specifications. Your success will be measured by the number of documents created. - Work with the purchase team to identify and qualify material suppliers, assess material quality and consistency. Your performance will be measured by the supplier qualification rate and the number of improvements implemented. - Ensure all selected materials comply with environmental, safety, and industry-specific regulations. Your compliance will be measured by the compliance report and non-conformance reports. In this role, you will be responsible for material selection, testing, validation, new material introduction, supplier evaluation, root cause analysis, and optimizing costs and quality of various materials. You will also coordinate with different teams for material testing, specification preparation, and analysis to achieve desired outcomes. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor of Engineering in Material Science/Technology with industry experience. Experience: - 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.
