Job Description

  • Deep Market Knowledge:

    Utilize comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of the

    district-wise distributor network in Gujarat

    to inform strategic decisions and identify gaps.
  • Distributor Development (5-7 Years Experience Required):

    • Identify and Onboard:

      Proactively identify, evaluate, and onboard new, high-potential distributors and channel partners to expand market reach in unserved or underperforming districts.
    • Relationship Management:

      Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with all existing distributors and key retailers across Gujarat.
    • Channel Strategy:

      Develop and implement effective channel strategies to maximize sales through the distributor network, ensuring optimal stock levels, product visibility, and service standards.
    • Performance Monitoring:

      Set distribution targets, monitor performance metrics (sales volume, reach, penetration), and implement corrective actions for channel partners.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Market Penetration:

    Develop and execute tailored marketing and sales promotion plans specific to the Gujarat market to drive brand awareness and product off-take through the distribution channel.
  • Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy:

    Collaborate with the national/corporate marketing team to localize GTM strategies for new product launches, ensuring successful rollout and adoption within the Gujarat districts.
  • BTL & Trade Marketing:

    Plan and manage local Below-The-Line (BTL) activities, trade schemes, dealer meetings, and in-shop merchandising to enhance brand visibility and push sales in key retail points.
  • Market Research:

    Conduct continuous market research to track competitor activities, pricing strategies, and emerging market trends specific to the electronics industry in Gujarat, and provide actionable insights.

Business & Reporting

  • Target Achievement:

    Be directly responsible for achieving the assigned marketing and sales revenue targets for the Gujarat region.
  • Budget Management:

    Manage the regional marketing budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation and demonstrable Return on Investment (ROI) for all marketing and trade activities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    Work closely with the Sales, Product, and Finance teams to ensure alignment of marketing efforts with sales goals and inventory planning.
  • Reporting:

    Prepare and present regular reports on market performance, campaign effectiveness, distributor network health, and competitive intelligence to senior management.

Essential Requirements

  • Residence & Local Expertise:

    The candidate

    must be from Gujarat

    with an established understanding of the local business culture, languages, and geographical nuances.
  • Industry Background:

    Mandatory experience in the

    Electronics, Electrical Goods, or Consumer Durables industry

    (e.g., companies like Bajaj Electricals, Havells, Crompton, Orient Electric, V-Guard, etc.).
  • Distribution Experience:

    5 to 7 years of proven, hands-on experience in distributor development, channel sales, and trade marketing.

  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is preferred.
  • Skills:

    Strong negotiation, analytical, leadership, and communication skills (including proficiency in Gujarati and English).
  • Travel:

    Willingness to undertake extensive travel within all districts of Gujarat.
