Manufacturing Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1.Should Costing of industrial commodities like Mechanical, chemical & Packaging e.g. pumps, Blowers, precision machined parts, fabricated structures, Skids, Pipes, enclosures, chemicals ( ethanol, Potassium hydroxide etc.)
2. Develop project schedule, plan deliverables, coordinate with various engagements/team and manage work packages. 3. Work with customer technical & sourcing teams & coordinate to propose/achieve cost savings 4. Participate in project activities, provide technical solutions in line with product cost reduction opportunity. 5. Develop should cost models envisaging optimum manufactucturing methods/ processes in a production environment, present cost reports to stakeholders & participate in negotiations. 6. Must have Good knowledge of component Design, Development and production phases. 7. Experience working in Manufacturing engineering, Costing and shop floor exposure. 8. Good Working knowledge of Excel based costing. Knowledge of aPriori & Boothroyd 9. Knowledge of product manufacturing [Casting, Machining, Molding, Powder metallurgy, Rapid Prototyping, Heat treatment, Surface coating, Painting, Welding, etc.] 10. Expert knowledge /domain expertise in manufacturing, Casting, forging, composite maligning, machining, stamping, forming, assembly, transportation, packaging and chemicals 11. Experience in Teardown activities 12. Add value to customer in should cost analysis and realising cost reduction opportunities

Required Skills (Technical Competency):

• Good knowledge on various Industrial products, manufacturing processes including specials process, tools required to produce parts ( Mechanical, Chemical & packaging)
• Fully conversant in reading and understanding Engineering & Manufacturing Drawings
• Sound knowledge interpreting the GD&T (standards ASME Y 14.5 )and special processes
• Sound knowledge in costing methodology and able to develop bottom up costing breaking down to maximum possible detail.
• Hands on experience in calculating process cycle time and develop process activity rate database.
• Able to substantiate cost savings and negotiate supplier with facts and figures
