Manitenance - Manager(Highways/Road)

Role & responsibilities

Plan and supervise routine and preventive maintenance of roadway (pavement, shoulders, medians, drains, signage).

* Maintain and repair bridges, culverts, underpasses, overpasses, and other structures.

* Oversee periodic maintenance activities (resurfacing, pothole filling, crack sealing).

* Maintain road furniture, safety barriers, guardrails, and pavement markings.

* Manage electrical assets on the roadway (streetlights, high mast lights, feeder panels, cabling).

* Supervise vendors/contractors for specialized works (road resurfacing, E&M works, etc.).

* Prepare and maintain inspection reports, checklists, and maintenance records.

* Submit monthly/quarterly O&M reports to authority/concessionaire.

* Lead and manage the roadway maintenance team (engineers, supervisors, technicians, helpers).

* Ensure compliance with NHAI/IRC specifications, concession agreement, and O&M manual.

* Implement safety protocols during maintenance and emergency works.

* Respond to accidents, natural calamities, and emergency repair needs.

* Optimize manpower, materials, and machinery utilization.

Preferred candidate profile

* Strong knowledge of highway O&M and road safety requirements.

* Technical expertise in civil, electrical, and mechanical roadway maintenance.

* Leadership and team management skills.

* Contractor/vendor management experience.

* Proficiency in MS Office and report preparation.

* Strong communication and coordination skills.

B.E./Diploma in Civil Engineering (preferred).

* 812 years’ experience in O&M of highways/road projects.

* Minimum 5 years in managerial role.

* Knowledge of NHAI/IRC specifications and O&M obligations.
