Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Purchasing

    • Source, evaluate, and purchase pharmaceutical products, medical consumables, and surgical supplies.
    • Ensure timely procurement to avoid stock-outs while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
    • Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost-effectiveness.
  • Vendor Management

    • Identify and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and distributors.
    • Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery timelines, and service.
    • Maintain updated records of suppliers and contracts.
  • Inventory & Stock Management

    • Monitor daily stock levels and forecast future requirements.
    • Coordinate with the pharmacy team to ensure adequate supply of fast-moving items.
    • Prevent overstocking and expiry through efficient stock rotation.
  • Compliance & Documentation

    • Ensure all purchased products comply with applicable drug laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
    • Maintain accurate purchase records, invoices, and agreements for audit purposes.
    • Work with finance and accounts for timely vendor payments.
  • Reporting & Coordination

    • Prepare purchase reports, cost analysis, and consumption trends.
    • Collaborate with pharmacy, medical, and administrative teams to understand requirements.
    • Assist in budget planning and cost control measures.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree in

    Pharmacy (B.Pharm / M.Pharm)

    or relevant field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in

    pharmacy procurement or hospital purchasing

    .
  • Strong knowledge of

    pharmaceutical products, market trends, and regulatory guidelines

    .
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in

    MS Office, ERP systems, or inventory management software

    .
  • Attention to detail, strong analytical ability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
