Manager- Technology Services

The SQL Database Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of database systems for applications across MSSQL Database platform. As part of the end-to-end delivery team, you will collaborate with Application Development, Infrastructure Engineering, and Operation Support teams to deliver and support secured, high-performing, and optimized database solutions. Your specialization will be in the SQL database platform. You will manage design, distribution, performance, replication, security, availability, and access requirements for large and complex SQL & Sybase databases. Additionally, you will design and develop physical layers of databases, implement backup, recovery, archiving, and conversion strategies, manage job scheduling, application release, database change, and compliance. You will identify and resolve problems using structured tools and techniques and provide technical assistance and mentoring to staff in all aspects of database management. Moreover, you will consult and advise application development teams on database security, query optimization, and performance, write scripts for automating DBA routine tasks, and document database maintenance processing flows per standards. It is crucial to implement industry best practices while performing database administration tasks and work in an Agile model with an understanding of Agile concepts. You will collaborate with development teams to provide and implement new features and debug production issues by analyzing the logs directly and using tools like Splunk. Additionally, you will begin tackling organizational impediments, learn new technologies based on demand, and help team members by coaching and assisting. To qualify for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another related field with 10+ years of IT and Infrastructure engineering work experience. You should have 10+ years of total IT experience and 7+ years of relevant experience in SQL Server + Sybase Database. Proficiency in database management, data infrastructure & security, backup & recovery, performance tuning & optimization, cloud computing & scripting, and management of database elements is essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills, are required.
