Role Summary

The Sr. Supplier Governance Lead will oversee and manage the end-to-end supplier governance function for an Australian telecommunications client from IBM India. This role demands strategic leadership, advanced process management, and high-level stakeholder engagement. The incumbent will guide the Supplier Governance team, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, robust risk management practices, and continuous improvement in supplier governance processes.

This high-impact role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in strategic acumen, operational excellence, and leadership. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader capable of shaping IBM's supplier governance standards and driving continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Direction

  • Develop and execute the annual supplier governance strategy in alignment with client objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to the Supplier Governance team.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define supplier governance policies and procedures.

Advanced Risk Management

  • Oversee initial supplier risk assessments, ensuring comprehensiveness and accuracy.
  • Lead the design and enhancement of the due diligence questionnaire to align with regulatory needs.
  • Implement and refine risk management frameworks and methodologies.

Comprehensive Ongoing Due Diligence

  • Direct monitoring of contract and supplier risk alerts, managing escalation protocols.
  • Maintain accuracy and currency of supplier information and due diligence responses.
  • Identify, track, and remediate gaps in questionnaires, ensuring swift resolution.
  • Drive updates to the Risk Framework, ensuring effectiveness and relevance.
  • Deliver comprehensive risk reporting, providing actionable insights for decision-making.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing Supplier Governance team.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Act as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders in supplier governance.

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, exceeding their expectations.
  • Collaborate across functions and geographies to integrate supplier governance into procurement strategies.
  • Represent the client in industry forums and events, showcasing leadership in supplier governance.

Work Schedule

  • 03:30 AM to 12:30 PM (Daylight On)
  • 04:30 AM to 1:30 PM (Daylight Off)

Qualifications & Experience

Required Education

  • Associate's Degree/College Diploma in a relevant field.

Required Technical & Professional Expertise

  • Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in senior-level supplier governance roles.
  • Proven expertise in supplier governance, risk management, and procurement operations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate objectives into actionable plans.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong project management experience, delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in advanced analytics tools for data-driven decision-making and process optimization.
