As a Mortgage Underwriter in the assigned branch/location, you will have the following responsibilities: - Review and assess a variety of complex loan applications, make decisions within guidelines, and recommend approvals to higher authorities. - Underwrite proposals based on policies & procedures to meet SLAs and manage business volumes in the city/area. - Conduct personal discussions with customers to evaluate creditworthiness, ensure completion of credit/KYC documents, and perform verification through telephonic, field, and collateral visits. - Analyze income to obligation ratios and loan to value ratios with a deep understanding of their impact on loan performance. - Maintain Portfolio MIS, Delinquency MIS, and other operational MIS for the cluster, providing regular reports. - Develop effective relationships with third parties to achieve the best outcomes for clients. - Address client queries using industry knowledge and experience, aiming to exceed service quality standards. - Review credit proposals to identify industry, business, financial, and management risks, and ensure appropriate risk mitigation measures. - Ensure quick turnaround of credit lending proposals for mortgage business, including loan against property and home loans, in coordination with the sales team. - Conduct ongoing reviews of credit exposures to maintain their bankability. - Monitor client and collateral creditworthiness from pre-sanction to post-disbursement phases, taking steps for risk mitigation as needed and ensuring compliance with legal and documentation norms. - Manage the credit underwriting function of the branch, collaborating with local credit analysts and the sales team for quick processing of credit lending proposals. - Follow up on and ensure recovery of quick mortality cases between 12-18 MOV.
