As an Underwriter for mortgage business in the assigned branch/location, your role involves reviewing and assessing a broad range of complex loan applications within defined guidelines. You will be responsible for making decisions or recommending applications for approval to higher authorities. Conducting personal discussions with customers to establish creditworthiness and ensure completion of credit/KYC documents and verifications is also part of your responsibilities. Key Responsibilities: - Review and assess loan applications within defined guidelines - Underwrite proposals in adherence to policies and procedures to meet agreed SLAs - Conduct personal discussions with customers to establish creditworthiness - Maintain Portfolio MIS, Delinquency MIS, and other related operations MIS - Facilitate best outcomes for clients by building effective relationships with third parties - Take ownership of client queries and use industry knowledge to solve problems - Exceed service quality standards and strive for continuous process improvement - Undertake critical review of credit proposals to identify risks - Ensure collateral and credit risk mitigation for credit proposals - Enable quick turnaround time for credit lending proposals - Facilitate ongoing review of credit exposures to ensure bankability - Monitor client and collateral creditworthiness from pre-sanction to post-disbursement phase - Manage credit underwriting function of the branch and facilitate quick turnaround of credit lending proposals - Follow up and ensure recovery of quick mortality cases between 12 -18 MOV Qualifications Required: - Graduate, Masters/Post Graduate - Certifications in CA/MBA are preferable This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the mortgage business by effectively underwriting loan applications, managing credit risks, and ensuring efficient processes.,
