Manager - Planning - Nagpur Metro Project

The Lead Planning will be responsible for end-to-end planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control of the Nagpur Metro Elevated Project. The role requires strong expertise in metro rail projects, project controls, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and reporting to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Role & responsibilities

Planning & Scheduling

• Develop, update, and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 .
• Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead plans (weekly/monthly), and recovery schedules.
• Plan and sequence construction activities for elevated viaducts and allied works.
• Ensure alignment of construction schedules with design deliverables, procurement, and approvals.

Project Monitoring & Control

• Monitor project progress against approved baselines and identify delays and critical activities.
• Perform critical path analysis and recommend mitigation and acceleration measures.
• Track physical and financial progress and prepare earned value analysis.
• Highlight risks, constraints, and bottlenecks affecting project timelines.

Coordination & Interface Management

• Coordinate with construction, design, QA/QC, contracts, procurement, and safety teams.
• Interface with system contractors (track, traction, signaling, telecom) for integrated planning.
• Support coordination with client, PMC, and statutory authorities.

Reporting & MIS

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for internal management and client/PMC.
• Develop dashboards, S-curves, manpower and equipment deployment plans.
• Present progress updates, delay analysis, and recovery proposals in review meetings.

Contract & Claims Support

• Assist contracts team in preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) claims and delay analysis.
• Maintain records for planning-related contractual correspondence.
• Support preparation of variation and change impact assessments from a planning perspective.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (Masters Degree preferred)
