Job Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Caterpillar Inc., you will contribute to the creation of stronger and more sustainable communities. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing, analyzing, and managing Manufacturing/Assembly Projects. - Administering the assembly New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure timely release and processing of Engineering drawings for NPI build. - Training new processors and developing training programs for Processors and Assemblers. - Engaging in creative problem-solving to address operational issues such as ergonomic/safety concerns, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, and quality concerns. - Collaborating with internal and external suppliers to develop and manage projects for efficient and cost-effective systems and processes. - Providing technical support in the application, procurement, processing, installation, and capability of new heat treat, welding, and/or chemical processes and equipment. - Designing, developing, and implementing the integration of manufacturing systems including factory control software, scheduling techniques, simulation, and systems application. - Coordinating, planning, monitoring, and reporting activities associated with the flow analysis, design, financial modeling, and implementation of complex manufacturing group technology cells. - Supporting process control and internal certification in manufacturing. - Coordinating corporate manufacturing and office space utilization, and assisting in the preparation of business proposals for rearrangements or additions to ensure proper space utilization. - Managing the purchase and application of machine tools, controls, and related equipment corporate-wide to enhance operational efficiency and economy. - Designing complex or intricate jigs and fixtures. - Adhering to established standards, policies, and practices related to quality, cost reduction, safety, and ergonomics. Qualifications required for this role include: - Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts, heat treat operations, etc. - BE/B.Tech (Mechanical) degree. - Minimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience as a Manufacturing Engineer 2 or equivalent. - Strong language and communication skills.
