Manager-Machine Shop

1. Strategic Leadership

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the machine shop division in alignment with the organization's goals.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost reduction, and revenue growth.
• Set short-term and long-term objectives to ensure sustained operational excellence.

2. Operations Management

• Oversee daily machine shop operations, ensuring productivity, quality, and adherence to deadlines.
• Manage workflows and resource allocation, including manpower, machinery, and materials.
• Monitor and optimize machine utilization and maintenance schedules.

3. Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of machinists, technicians, and supervisors.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and training sessions for team skill enhancement.

4. Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with quality standards and client specifications.
• Drive initiatives to maintain certifications and improve overall product quality.
• Address quality concerns promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed.

5. Financial Management

• Prepare and manage budgets for the division, ensuring cost control and profitability.
• Analyze operational data to track performance metrics and implement cost-saving measures.
• Drive procurement decisions for raw materials, tooling, and equipment.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Coordinate with other divisions, including design, sales, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage customer relationships, addressing feedback and ensuring on-time delivery of products.
• Liaise with external vendors and suppliers to maintain efficient supply chain operations.

7. Health, Safety, and Compliance

• Enforce compliance with safety regulations and organizational policies.
• Conduct regular safety audits and training to mitigate risks.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices, ensuring the division meets all legal requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing
• 10+ years of experience in machine shop operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of CNC & VMC machining, tooling, and precision manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
