You will establish open lines of communication between engineering squads and IT leadership, supporting clear adherence to business requirements. Facilitating and monitoring Engineer check-ins, sprint deliverables, and open communication towards squads and stakeholders will be crucial. You will drive increased technical upskilling across the organization through education, programs, and metrics. Managing Engineer staffing strategy to ensure alignment to Scrum and Agile principles will also be a key responsibility. Promoting the use of industry-leading technology trends and continuously assessing AA IT needs for improvement will be part of your role. As a Manager, you will lead the adoption and migration of new and emerging technologies. You will develop and mentor a high-performing engineering team with a diverse range of technical skills and experiences. Your continuous desire for learning and sharing new knowledge within the organization will contribute to the team's success. Being responsible for hiring and managing squad members, including staffing and performance reviews, will be essential. You will manage production issues and off-hours support, communication, and coordination as needed. Occasionally, you may be required to work extended hours based on project and operational needs. To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training. With 9+ years of experience participating in the delivery of solutions using ITIL/Agile/XP, or similar methodologies, you will bring valuable expertise to the team. Preferred qualifications include airline industry experience, including engineering/business processes and supporting technology. Your skills should include a proven track record in leading Engineering initiatives that generate substantial value, strong technical leadership, and extensive experience in an Agile leadership environment. Excellent communication skills, the ability to handle multiple products/work streams efficiently, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities are crucial. Leading, influencing, and upholding technology standards to ensure resiliency goals are met will be part of your responsibilities. Basic financial skills and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization are essential for success in this role.
