Manager Data Visualization

Role Overview: You will be joining the Global Analytics and Insights team as an experienced Data Visualization Manager to drive data-driven decision-making initiatives. Your expertise in Power BI, advanced SQL skills, leadership capabilities, and innovative project management skills will be crucial for this role. Your main responsibility will be to specialize in analyzing Avalara's financial, marketing, sales, and operations data. Key Responsibilities: - Define and implement the organization's BI strategy to align with business objectives. - Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of BI developers and analysts to encourage continuous learning. - Create and deploy effective data visualization and reporting solutions utilizing Power BI. - Enhance data models, dashboards, and reports to offer valuable insights for decision-making. - Collaborate with business leaders, analysts, and cross-functional teams to understand and translate requirements into actionable BI solutions. - Serve as a trusted advisor to business teams, identifying opportunities for BI to enhance efficiencies and advancements. - Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across various data sources. - Stay abreast of the latest BI tools, SQL performance tuning, and data visualization best practices. - Establish and uphold BI development standards, governance, and documentation practices. - Collaborate closely with Data Engineering teams to define and manage scalable data pipelines. - Implement automation and optimization of reporting processes to enhance efficiency. Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related fields. - Proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and dashboard creation. - Strong SQL skills with expertise in writing complex queries, performance tuning, and handling large datasets. - Knowledge of cloud-based BI solutions (e.g., Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Snowflake) is advantageous. - Understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts. - Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities.,
