Role & responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a team responsible for localizing the control system by replacing Chinese electrical components from the existing BOM with approved local alternatives.
• Review and analyze the existing Chinese PLC and HMI programs to develop equivalent or improved localized versions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and quality to ensure seamless integration of new components and software adaptations.
• Ensure all localization activities adhere to project timelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Validate and verify the newly developed PLC and HMI programs against machine processes and operational requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to control system hardware and software during the localization process.
• Document all changes, maintain updated BOMs, and prepare technical reports and progress updates for stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to the localization team members.
• Manage supplier relationships and participate in vendor evaluations for sourcing alternative electrical components.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies throughout the localization and development process.

Preferred candidate profile

BE/ B.Tech with 5- 10 years experience in Control system engineering, specifically with PLC and HMI programming.

• Strong understanding of industrial electrical components, with experience in BOM management and component replacement.
• Familiarity with Chinese electrical standards and control systems is highly desirable.
• Expertise in programming and troubleshooting PLCs (e.g., Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, Omron, Delta Etc.) and HMI platforms.
• Strong leadership skills with prior experience in leading technical teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret machine process requirements and translate them into control logic.
• Experience in vendor management and procurement of electrical components.
• Proficient in documentation and project management tools.
