Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement buying strategies that align with the brand's vision and market trends.
• Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences in the apparel sector.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including merchandising, marketing, and supply chain to ensure a cohesive approach to product offerings.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to secure the best pricing and terms for the company.
• Analyze sales data and inventory levels to make informed buying decisions that optimize stock levels and minimize markdowns.
• Oversee the buying process from initial selection to final purchase, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met.
• Monitor competitor activity and market conditions to adjust buying strategies as necessary.
• Lead and mentor a team of buyers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Experience:

  5 to 10 years of experience in retail buying, preferably within the apparel sector.

• Skills:

  Strong understanding of retail buying processes, retail planning, apparel sourcing, and vendor management.

• Analytical Skills:

  Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to make data-driven decisions.

• Communication:

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively.

• Leadership:

  Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing a team.

• Education:

  A degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is preferred.
