The Role:
We are looking for a QA Automation Engineer to build and own the automated testing framework that ensures the reliability, performance, and quality of our complex distributed system. In this role, you will be the champion of quality, responsible for designing and implementing the comprehensive test suites that validate our product from the deepest levels of the control plane to the user interface. This is a critical, hands-on role where you will architect the automation that allows us to ship features with speed and confidence, ensuring our platform is robust enough to handle the demands of enterprise-scale multi-cloud networks.
Responsibilities:
Automated Test Framework Development: Design, build, and maintain a scalable and efficient automated testing framework from the ground up for our entire platform.
End-to-End Network Validation: Develop comprehensive automated tests to validate complex, end-to-end network paths and policies across multiple cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
API Test Automation: Create and maintain robust automated test suites for our gRPC and REST APIs using tools like Pytest and Postman/Newman, ensuring the reliability of our control plane.
UI Automation: Build and manage automated UI tests for our management portal using modern frameworks like Cypress to ensure a seamless and bug-free user experience.
Performance and Scalability Testing: Design and execute performance, load, and stress tests to identify bottlenecks and ensure our distributed system meets strict performance and scalability requirements.
CI/CD Integration: Integrate all automated test suites into our CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) to enable continuous testing and provide rapid feedback to the engineering team.
Collaboration and Bug Advocacy: Work closely with developers and DevOps engineers to identify, document, and troubleshoot issues, and act as a strong advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in a QA Automation or Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) role, with a focus on testing complex, distributed systems.
Strong programming skills in Python and extensive hands-on experience with the Pytest framework.
Proven experience with UI automation tools, specifically Cypress.
Demonstrated expertise in API testing, including the use of tools like Postman and its command-line runner, Newman.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
A solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with performance testing frameworks such as k6, JMeter, or Locust.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform.
Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
A passion for building things from scratch and taking ownership of the quality engineering function.
