• Patient Care:

  Explain the procedure to patients, answer their questions, position them correctly for the exam, and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the process.

• Image Production:

  Operate mammography equipment to create high-quality X-ray images of the breast, ensuring proper anatomy is captured for accurate diagnosis.

• Quality Control:

  Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly quality control tests to maintain equipment function and image standards.

• Equipment Management:

  Operate and monitor the mammography machine, clean equipment, change compression paddles as needed, and recognize and report malfunctions.

• Patient History & Records:

  Obtain and document patient medical histories and review prior images to ensure proper procedure protocols are followed.

• Workplace Safety & Efficiency:

  Maintain a clean and organized work area, and follow safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Mammography Technologist program.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• A valid state license to practice.
