Maintenance Technician

Position: Maintenance Technician – CNC Unit

Location: Saudi Arabia
Salary: As per company standards (can be added if required)

Job Purpose:

To perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on CNC machines and related equipment, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the CNC machining unit. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for diagnosing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and performing timely repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines (lathe, milling, VMC, HMC, grinding, etc.).
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults in CNC machines.
• Troubleshoot machine issues related to servo motors, drives, spindles, ball screws, tool changers, controllers, etc.
• Perform maintenance on machine accessories like coolant systems, lubrication systems, ATC, and rotary tables.
• Conduct periodic inspections to ensure machines are operating within required accuracy.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams, mechanical drawings, and maintenance manuals.
• Assist in machine alignment, leveling, calibration, and performance testing.
• Replace worn-out or damaged mechanical components (bearings, belts, gears, seals, etc.).
• Maintain proper documentation of maintenance activities and machine history.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with safety standards and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of CNC machines when needed.
• Keep maintenance tools, spare parts, and workshop areas well organized.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician for CNC machines.
• Strong understanding of CNC machine mechanical and electrical systems.
• Good knowledge of machine alignment, calibration, and accuracy checks.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting servo systems, drives, PLCs, sensors, relays, etc.
• Ability to read and understand electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical schematics.
• Strong skills in mechanical assembly, repair, and component replacement.
• Basic knowledge of CNC controller systems (Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Mazak, etc.).
• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet maintenance deadlines.

Preferred:

• Experience in machine shop, manufacturing, or CNC machining industry.
• Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques.
• Understanding of CNC program parameters related to machine performance.
