Job Description

As an electrician in a factory setting, your primary responsibility will be to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment. This encompasses a wide range of tasks, from basic wiring and lighting to intricate machinery and control systems. Your ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot electrical issues, and ensure compliance with safety standards will be crucial in performing your duties effectively. You will be expected to carry out the following core responsibilities: - Installation: Installing new electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment based on blueprints and schematics. - Maintenance: Conducting routine and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to uphold optimal performance and prevent failures. - Repair: Diagnosing and rectifying electrical malfunctions, including troubleshooting issues with wiring, circuits, and components. - Testing: Utilizing testing devices like voltmeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes to assess electrical systems and components. - Safety: Guaranteeing that all work adheres to safety regulations and standards, including those outlined by OSHA and the National Electrical Code (NEC). - Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving complex electrical problems in various systems and equipment. - Record Keeping: Maintaining precise records of maintenance and repairs conducted. In addition to the core responsibilities, you will be involved in specific tasks such as: - Maintaining and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. - Performing preventative maintenance on both electrical and mechanical systems. - Installing and maintaining wires, cables, circuit breakers, and fixtures. - Working with switchboards and inspecting electrical systems and components. - Responding to fault requests and offering recommendations for equipment replacement. - Installing new electrical appliances and diagnosing electrical problems using precision instrumentation. - Developing wiring diagrams and maintaining plant instrumentation. - Conducting inspections of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. - Troubleshooting and maintaining programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and related systems. - Monitoring plant HVAC and other environmental controls. Moreover, you are encouraged to highlight your technical skills, demonstrating proficiency with hand and power tools, as well as specialized electrical testing equipment.
