As an experienced Mainframe Developer Lead, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of mainframe applications using COBOL, IMS DB/DC, CICS, and VSAM. You will provide technical guidance to a team of developers, ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards. Your role will involve analyzing business and technical requirements to develop scalable and robust mainframe solutions. Additionally, you will participate in application modernization and integration projects, conduct code reviews, unit testing, and performance tuning of applications, as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and development environments. Collaboration with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders will be essential to ensure timely and quality delivery. You will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining technical documentation for systems and processes, mentoring junior team members, and facilitating knowledge sharing across the team. Required Skills & Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - 8+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe development with a focus on COBOL, CICS, VSAM, and IMS DB / IMS DC. - Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and mainframe DevOps tools. - Experience in batch and online processing systems. - Proficient in JCL, DB2 (optional), and debugging tools such as Xpeditor or Abend-AID. - Excellent analytical, communication, and team leadership skills. - Ability to manage tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
