Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Lead with a strong focus on Mainframe technologies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in Mainframe IMS DBA and Mainframe CICS System Programming. This role requires a strategic thinker who can design and implement robust software solutions while ensuring optimal performance and reliability of mainframe systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications and systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Manage and optimize IMS databases, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Implement and support CICS environments, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Conduct system analysis and troubleshooting to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and enforce best practices for database management and system programming.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in mainframe development and database management.
  

Mandatory Skills

• Strong expertise in Mainframe IMS DBA, including database design, performance tuning, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Proficient in Mainframe CICS System Programming, with a solid understanding of transaction management and application development.
• Experience with COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe programming languages.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience with performance monitoring and tuning tools for mainframe environments.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies and their integration with mainframe systems.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC).
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in Mainframe technologies or database management are a plus.
• Proven track record of successful software development projects in a mainframe environment.
