• Analyzing database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimization strategies for both IMS and DB2.
• Identifying and resolving database-related issues, including application errors and performance degradation.
• Implementing database changes in a controlled manner, following change management processes.
• Mainframe operating system knowledge: Proficiency with z/OS commands and utilities to manage the mainframe environment.
• Database administration tools: Experience using database management tools for backup/restore, reorganization, and data loading.
• Problem-solving skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
• Monitoring CICS applications for errors, identifying root causes of system issues, and implementing timely corrective actions to minimize downtime
• Providing technical assistance to end-users on CICS application functionalities, addressing queries, and resolving user-related problems
• Familiarity with COBOL, PL/I, or other programming languages used within the CICS environment.
• Strong understanding of CICS concepts, including transactions, programs, resources, and system parameters.
