Description
We are seeking a skilled Pipe Bending Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining pipe-bending machines to fabricate pipes and tubes as per engineering drawings and specifications. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols. Key Responsibilities Machine Operation & Setup: Set up and operate CNC/hydraulic/manual pipe bending machines to bend pipes/tubes to specified angles and radii. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine bending requirements. Select appropriate tools, dies, and mandrels based on material type (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel) and pipe diameter. Quality Control: Inspect bent pipes for accuracy, dimensional tolerance, and surface defects (cracks, deformations). Use measuring tools (calipers, protractors, tape measures) to verify compliance with specifications. Material Handling: Load and unload pipes/tubes onto the machine using hoists or manual handling equipment. Ensure proper material identification and traceability. Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine machine maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, minor repairs). Follow safety protocols (PPE, LOTO) and report hazards to supervisors. Documentation: Maintain logs of production output, machine settings, and defects. Report deviations from quality standards promptly. Qualifications & Experience ITI/Diploma in Mechanical/Fabrication or equivalent certification. 2+ years of experience operating pipe-bending machines in an industrial/manufacturing setting. Familiarity with CNC pipe bending programming (e.g., BLM, Schwarze-Robitec) is a plus. Knowledge of pipe materials (e.g., ASTM A106, A312) and bending techniques (cold/hot bending). Skills & Competencies Ability to read technical drawings and use precision tools. Physical stamina for standing long hours and handling heavy pipes. Basic troubleshooting skills for machine malfunctions. Work Environment Workshop/Site-based with exposure to noise and machinery. Shift work may be required based on project deadlines. Why Join Us?
