Internship Opportunity – Machine Learning / Edge AI (Computer Vision)

semiconductors, embedded systems, and edge AI

concept to production

advanced semiconductor design expertise (PhD Purdue, ex-Cypress)


Project

lightweight convolutional neural network (CNN)


What you’ll do

  • Prepare and curate datasets (FER+, AffectNet, driver attention).
  • Train compact CNNs (YOLOv5-Nano / BlazeFace + MobileNetV3-Small).
  • Apply

    quantization (INT8)

    and pruning for low-power deployment.
  • Export models to

    ONNX / TensorFlow Lite

    .
  • Benchmark latency, FPS, and accuracy on typical edge devices.


Skills we look for

  • Python with

    PyTorch

    or

    TensorFlow/Keras

    .
  • Understanding of CNNs and model compression (quantization/pruning).
  • Familiarity with OpenCV / image preprocessing.
  • Prior vision projects or coursework helpful.
