Loan Originator

The Loan Origination Analyst_CRE position offers you the opportunity to collaborate directly with stakeholders in New York, focusing on day-to-day tasks related to originations and underwriting for BREDS funds. You will be responsible for assisting in the creation of Screening Memos for the BREDS Originations Team. This involves compiling detailed property information, market analysis, and financing details to support the loan origination process. Your initial role will involve working on multifamily loans from the Insurance group, with the potential for expansion into other asset classes and funding sources over time. In Phase 1, you will be tasked with producing annualized and trailing-12 cash flows for potential loan targets, similar to the cash flow spreading activities for the Asset Management team. These spreads will need to be presented in an Excel format to the Origination Team. Phase 2 will involve completing the remaining content of the screening memo by gathering information from the BREDS deal team members. You will be responsible for processing and delivering this content in a format that is yet to be determined. While initially taking direction from the BX Origination team members, the role aims to evolve to include tasks such as extracting market and asset statistics, comparing deal metrics, analyzing property information, preparing financial data, creating investment memorandums, conducting due diligence, and data input in pipeline tools. The ideal candidate for this role should possess a Master's degree, with a major in Finance or Banking and Capital Markets considered a plus. Strong quantitative skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a background in real estate lending are essential. A CFA designation, rigorous analytical mindset, attention to detail, effective communication, teamwork skills, and sound judgment are also desired qualities.
