Linux Sys Admin/ RHEL experience

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Linux System Administrator with a strong focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to join our Video Operations team. This role is critical for ensuring the stability, performance, and automation of our Linux-based infrastructure and applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with system installation, configuration, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Administration & Configuration:

  Perform hands-on installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of Linux operating systems, with a primary focus on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• (Good to have) Experience with Rocky Linux.
• Deploy and configure various applications critical to our video operations infrastructure.

• Automation & Orchestration:

  Utilize Ansible to develop and maintain playbooks for automating routine tasks, streamlining application deployments, and managing system configurations efficiently.
• Apply solid understanding of automation principles to enhance operational efficiency.

• Virtualization Management:

  Work with virtualization technologies, preferably Nebula or other OpenStack-based platforms, for managing virtualized environments.

• Monitoring & Alerting:

  Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana) to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring high availability and performance.

• Troubleshooting & Support:

  Provide timely and effective troubleshooting and support for system and application-related incidents, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operations.

• Scripting:

  Develop and maintain strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate administrative tasks and enhance system functionalities.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Total Years of Experience:

  5+ years in system administration.

• Mandatory Skills (Key Words):

  Strong RHEL experience.
• Hands-on experience with Linux configuration and installation.
• Proficiency with Ansible for configuration management and orchestration.
• Solid Shell Scripting skills.

• Core Technical Skills:

  Experience with virtualization technologies (Nebula or OpenStack-based platforms preferred).
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience in working on development projects involving application installation and configuration.
• Good in problem solving.
