Job Description

As a skilled and reliable Sound Technician, your role will involve managing audio equipment for various school events, performances, and day-to-day activities. Your keen ear for great sound and ability to work behind the scenes to ensure events run smoothly will be essential in this position. Your key responsibilities will include: - Setting up and operating audio equipment for school events, assemblies, and performances. This includes arranging microphones, speakers, and soundboards to ensure clear and balanced sound. You will also be responsible for adjusting levels as needed and troubleshooting issues like distortion or feedback. - Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment by conducting routine checks and maintenance. You will need to promptly fix or report technical problems to prevent disruptions and ensure proper organization and storage of equipment after each use. - Supporting school events and performances by collaborating with teachers, event coordinators, and student performers to understand their sound requirements. Your role will involve assisting with rehearsals and live events to guarantee seamless audio and providing guidance to staff and students on using microphones and other audio tools. - Providing classroom and AV support by assisting in setting up and maintaining sound systems in classrooms and supporting teachers with audio setups for lessons, presentations, or online classes. - Following safety and school policies to ensure the safe use of equipment in accordance with school guidelines. You will also be required to stay updated on best practices for electrical and sound safety. The qualifications we are looking for in a Sound Technician include: - Experience with sound systems, mixers, and microphones. Formal training in this area would be a plus. - Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly when issues arise. - Capability to work both independently and as part of a team. - Strong attention to detail as sound quality is crucial. - Comfort working under pressure, especially during live events. Bonus points if you have experience in sound engineering, event production, or working in a school setting, knowledge of multimedia setups including projectors and video integration, and basic technical troubleshooting skills beyond sound equipment. This is a full-time position with a day shift schedule. The application deadline is 22/02/2025.
