Job Description

As a Legal Professional at Medtronic, you will play a crucial role in providing legal advisory services for the company. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing legal advice, counsel, and service to internal business clients on various legal topics such as commercial contracts, property laws, competition law, employment law, disputes, corporate matters, litigation/arbitration, in alignment with local law and Medtronic policies. - Drafting contracts related to leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate, employment, insurance, mergers, acquisitions, marketing, and advertising. - Staying updated on legislative issues, statutes, decisions, and ordinances. - Evaluating legal data to determine the advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits. - Acting as the corporation's agent in different transactions. - Advising the company on risk assessment and anti-trust regulations. - Developing, reviewing, or implementing company-wide and/or functionally specific training programs. - Overseeing corporate governance matters and various committees. - Collaborating with outside counsel to direct activities. In this role, you will have autonomy as a recognized expert managing large projects or processes independently. You will be responsible for delivering and overseeing projects from design to implementation, while adhering to policies and using specialized knowledge and skills acquired through advanced education. Furthermore, you will contribute to defining the direction for new products, processes, standards, or operational plans based on the business strategy, with a significant impact on work group results. You may manage large projects or processes that span beyond your immediate job area. Your role will involve dealing with difficult, moderately complex, and undefined problems that require detailed information gathering, analysis, and investigation. You will develop solutions to these problems and make improvements independently to enhance job area performance. As a Legal Professional at Medtronic, you will represent the organization as a primary contact for specific projects and initiatives. You will communicate with internal and external customers and vendors at various levels, negotiate with others to reach understanding or agreement, and influence decision-making. You will also provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within your job area. Additionally, you may manage major/moderately complex projects, delegate work, review work products, and act as a team leader at times. To excel in this role, you are required to have a LLB with a minimum of 9-12 years of relevant experience, demonstrating mastery of a specialty area and full knowledge of industry practices usually acquired through advanced education combined with experience.
