Job Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:
1. Legacy Systems Expertise• Provide subject matter expertise for IBM iSeries / AS400 applications, including RPG (RPG III/IV/ILE), CL, and DB2/400.• Understand and document existing business processes and legacy application architecture.• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance existing AS400 programs and jobs.• Identify areas for system improvement and modernization.2. Integration & Modernization Support• Support integration of AS400 systems with modern platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, MuleSoft, APIs).• Assist with legacy system modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud or new platforms.• Translate legacy business logic into modern equivalents for digital transformation initiatives.3. Migration & Transition Planning• Lead the analysis and planning of legacy-to-modern system migration (e.g., AS400 to SAP, Oracle, or custom apps).• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and minimize disruption during migrations.• Develop conversion strategies, test plans, and fallback procedures.4. Stakeholder & Project Engagement• Collaborate with business analysts, enterprise architects, and IT operations teams.• Provide estimates, effort planning, and technical documentation.• Support change management and knowledge transfer to support teams.5. Compliance & Governance• Ensure legacy systems comply with organizational IT standards, security policies, and audit requirements.• Maintain proper documentation for source code, data models, and job schedules.________________________________________Required Skills & Qualifications:• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.• 7+ years of hands-on experience with IBM iSeries / AS400 systems.• Strong experience with RPG (III/IV/ILE), CL programming, and DB2/400.• Experience with job scheduling tools (e.g., Robot, Control-M, or native job schedulers).• Familiarity with file systems, journaling, backup/recovery processes on AS400.• Experience in analyzing, refactoring, or re-engineering legacy codebases.________________________________________Preferred Skills:• Experience integrating AS400 with external systems using FTP, SFTP, MQ, REST/SOAP APIs, or middleware (e.g., MuleSoft).• Understanding of enterprise ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP, Oracle) is a plus.• Experience with modernization tools such as Profound UI, LANSA, or Fresche.• Familiarity with Agile/DevOps concepts in a legacy environment.________________________________________Certifications (Nice to Have):• IBM Certified Specialist System i Technical Solutions• ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management certification________________________________________Soft Skills:• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.• Strong documentation and legacy knowledge transfer abilities.
