Lead - Test Engineer (Data Engineering)

As a Lead Test Engineer at Jet2, you will be a key member of our Data Engineering program, focused on enabling advanced analytics, data science, and automated decision making by making data assets available in the cloud. Your role will involve working closely with colleagues across the business and technical teams to ensure that data is cleansed, well-structured, and transformed effectively to support various use cases, from self-service analytics to data warehousing and data science. You will be instrumental in driving mission critical processes that contribute to profitable growth, competitive advantage, and exceptional customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include planning, monitoring, and directing testing activities to deliver high-quality and trustworthy data assets for business use. You will lead a multi-disciplinary data delivery team across different platforms such as on-premises, cloud, data warehouses, and tableau dashboards. Your expertise in testing data products and applications will be crucial in assessing the appropriate level of testing for each project and supporting the planning, execution, and documentation of testing activities. As a thought-leader in Cloud Data Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in evolving our Data Engineering processes and practices to align with industry best practices and leverage new developments in the data engineering landscape. You will be responsible for developing Agile Data Testing methodologies, Automated Data Testing processes, and new initiatives in test automation strategies and frameworks to maximize reusability for regression testing. Additionally, you will lead the onboarding QA training for new hires and advance training programs for experienced resources while providing direct line management for Test Engineers within your teams.
