Job Description

As a Plant Operations Specialist, your primary responsibility is to monitor the day-to-day plant operations to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency. You will provide input for daily operations and guide the team in implementing best practices, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing plant performance. Your role involves coordinating technical services, maintenance activities, unit shutdowns, and start-ups. Your key accountabilities include ensuring compliance with MSHEMS procedures by following Maaden policies and procedures. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, conducting risk assessments, reporting incidents, and providing training to operating personnel. Additionally, you will be required to monitor plant performance, track equipment maintenance, troubleshoot abnormalities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the plant. Routine job compliance tasks involve reviewing unit operating data, conducting visual inspections, coordinating plant start-up and shutdown procedures, and ensuring operational parameters are within specified limits. You will also be responsible for communicating with engineering and maintenance teams, monitoring DCS alarms, and managing work during plant turnarounds and emergencies. Effective communication with the operation team is crucial in your role. You will conduct daily meetings with plant site supervisors, report abnormalities in plant operations to the manager, and collaborate with the team to address process deviations and operational issues. You will also assist in handling plant emergencies and ensuring safety and reliability at all times. Your job knowledge should cover high potential hazards, emergency response strategies, environmental requirements, and quality management standards. You should be familiar with plant processes, equipment, and maintenance activities. Additionally, you are expected to continuously develop your skills by attending trainings and utilizing self-development resources. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related fields and have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Shift Supervisor in industrial operations. Competencies required include safety awareness, problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in English language and PC skills, as well as knowledge in plant processes, safety protocols, and analytical thinking, are essential for this role.
