Role Overview: Salesforce is seeking software developers to join their team in building breakthrough features for their CRM platform. As a Lead Backend Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing high-quality, scalable, and efficient components for their cloud platform. Working alongside a team of world-class engineers, you will have the opportunity to make design decisions based on performance and scalability to ensure the products are released with high quality. Key Responsibilities: - Build new and exciting components in the evolving market technology to provide scale and efficiency. - Develop production-ready code that can be utilized by millions of users on the cloud platform. - Make design decisions focusing on performance, scalability, and future expansion. - Contribute to all phases of SDLC including design, implementation, code reviews, automation, and testing. - Design and develop efficient components/algorithms on a microservice multi-tenant SaaS cloud environment. - Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance to the team based on seniority level. Qualifications Required: - Mastery of multiple programming languages and platforms - 10+ years of software development experience - Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, Scala, C#, Go, Node.JS, and C++. - Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases like Postgres, Trino, Redshift, and Mongo. - Experience in developing SAAS products over public cloud infrastructure like AWS, Azure, and GCP. - Proven experience in designing and developing distributed systems at scale. - Proficiency in queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architecture, workload distribution, and relational/non-relational databases. - Understanding of software development best practices and leadership skills. - Degree or equivalent relevant experience required, with evaluation based on core competencies for the role (e.g., extracurricular leadership roles, military experience, volunteer roles, work experience, etc.).
