Lead Piping Engineer

As a Technical Director Piping in Plant Design Engineering consulting for Life Sciences, Pharma, and Biotech facilities, your role involves deep expertise in piping design, layout, and engineering standards for complex, regulated facilities. You will be a key player in defining and implementing piping design standards, best practices, and guiding the team in preparing specifications for piping materials, valves, fittings, and specialty items. Additionally, you will provide expert oversight for pipe stress analysis, flexibility studies, and support design, collaborating with various disciplines to ensure seamless integration in plant design. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Piping Design & Engineering across pharma, biotech, and life sciences projects. - Lead the preparation and review of plot plans, equipment layouts, piping layouts, isometrics, stress analysis, and material specifications. - Define and implement piping design standards, philosophies, and best practices tailored for regulated industries (cGMP, FDA, EMA, ISPE). - Guide the team in preparing specifications for piping materials, valves, fittings, and specialty items. - Review and validate P&IDs, 3D modeling (PDMS/E3D/Plant 3D), and clash analysis. - Provide expert oversight for pipe stress analysis, flexibility studies, and support design. - Collaborate with process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines to ensure seamless integration in plant design. - Advise clients on design optimization, constructability reviews, and cost-effective piping solutions. - Stay updated with industry codes and standards (ASME B31.3, BPE, ISPE, ASTM, DIN, etc.) relevant to life sciences and biotech facilities. - Support business development and proposals by providing technical expertise in client interactions and project bids. - Mentor and develop a high-performing team of piping engineers and designers.
