Lead I - Data Science

Role Overview: You are a Data Scientist at UST, responsible for driving impactful machine learning initiatives focused on improving the health and well-being of members. Your role involves leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools such as Vertex AI and BigQuery, and exploring Generative AI applications to create value for the business and its customers. The ideal candidate is passionate about data science, healthcare, and cloud-based ML development, thriving in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: - Identify opportunities for applying machine learning to meet business needs. - Ideate, prototype, experiment, and build analytical solutions using GCP tools like Vertex AI and BigQuery. - Develop and optimize machine learning models tailored to specific business use cases. - Conduct model bias audits to ensure fairness, ethics, and alignment with customer values. - Interpret model results, identify limitations, and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders and senior management. - Deploy, monitor, and maintain machine learning solutions in production for reliability and scalability. - Explore Generative AI applications (e.g., natural language generation, image synthesis, data augmentation) to unlock business value. - Stay updated on emerging trends in data science, ML, and GCP, sharing knowledge within the team. Qualifications: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in data science or machine learning roles. - Experience in healthcare or with healthcare data is preferred.
