Lead Geophysicist Subsurface

As an experienced geophysicist in seismic reservoir characterization and interpretation projects for integrated reservoir study and well placement, your primary responsibility will be to utilize cutting-edge geophysical techniques and software to generate inversion products and attributes for characterizing reservoirs. You will be expected to identify Rock Physics Modelling (RPM) strategy, perform seismic inversion, and generate net to gross, porosity, and lithology volumes as required. Additionally, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate seismic data with geological and petrophysical information, perform attribute analyses, and compute volumetric estimations. Your role will also involve planning and optimizing well placement, conducting appraisal, development, and infill well planning using appropriate seismic attribute volumes, and providing inputs for the Field Development Plan (FDP) in consultation with key stakeholders. You will be required to interact with drilling and operations teams, recommend data acquisition requirements during drilling, and ensure safety compliance as per HSE guidelines. Furthermore, you should possess knowledge and working experience in Seismic Inversion and AVO analysis, generation of rock physical models, fluid substitution analysis, and synthetic modeling. Proficiency in interpretation and reservoir characterization software like Landmark, Petrel, HRS, Jason Geoscience Workbench, and RockDoc is essential. Coding skills in Python, Matlab, or C, along with experience in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, will be beneficial for this role. To excel in this position, you must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in E&P with a strong background as a seismic interpreter/ seismc reservoir characterization geophysicist. Extensive experience in prospect/field evaluation, seismic attributes & inversion, velocity modeling, risk & uncertainty assessment, and exploration/appraisal/development well placement is required. Additionally, the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of geologists, geophysicists, and petrophysicists to deliver as per the business plan requirements is crucial.
