Lead Environment_ DCTL Dahej

Position Overview:

Ensure safe operating environment at the site through periodic review of safety procedures and through creating safety first approach among the employees along with the meeting all statutory compliance related to safety. Responsible for development and effective implementation of company's environment management system.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure safe operating environment at the site through periodic review of safety procedures and through creating a safety-first approach amongst the employees along with meeting all statutory compliances related to Safety. Responsible for development and effective implementation of company's Environment Management System.

Develop and implement environmental strategies and action plans in line with corporate sustainable development plan.

Implement the system for identification and rectification of abnormalities, environment risk at site.

Carry out impact assessments to identify, assess and reduce an organisation's environmental risks and financial costs

Monitor Hazardous waste management on a real time basis as per all standard and statutory requirements.

Ensure all environment systems related documentation is in place.

Develop and implement the system to keep track of updates in compliance requirements / Norms related to environment.

Develop the inspection plan for sites to identify the abnormalities, potential noncompliance.

Report the abnormalities.

Ensure the regular monitoring of stacks, vents, effluent discharge parameters and other environment management system.

Identify areas of improvement through regular onsite Environment audits and enforce closure of action requests from the audit.

Keep apprised of developments in central and state safety laws likely to affect the company.

Liaise with government agencies on safety matters affecting the company.

Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to internal and external clients and regulatory bodies

Ensure submission of the reports/ returns to statutory bodies on time.

Investigate the Environment related abnormalities.

Interacts with Internally: All departments from plant

Externally: GPCB, CPCB, MOEF, PESO, Factory Inspector, Vendors, Similar industries, ISO consultants, Consultants, etc.

Externally: GPCB, CPCB, MOEF, PESO, Factory Inspector, Vendors, Similar industries, ISO consultants, Consultants, etc.

Education Qualification:

BE, B. Tech/BSc 12-15 years of experience in Chemical/fertilizer/petrochemical Industries

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in environmental science/National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
