As a Lead Engineer at MongoDB, you will play a crucial role in leveling up TechOps and launching a new Support and Development Team. Your responsibilities will include resolving complex technical issues escalated from Level 1 Support, actively contributing to the codebases of supported platforms, and managing a team of 2-3 Support And Development Engineers. Additionally, you will be involved in planning work for your team, collaborating with other leads, and writing tooling to diagnose and solve technical issues effectively. Your success will be measured by establishing positive relationships with direct reports, enabling your team to close escalated support issues, and committing code to solve actionable bugs. Key Responsibilities: - Manage a team of 2-3 Support And Development Engineers - Facilitate planning, execution, and delivery of work for your team - Balance engineering work with managerial responsibilities - Collaborate with other leads to prioritize your team effectively - Write tooling to diagnose and solve technical issues - Fix bugs and build features for supported platforms - Be on call during a 12-hour shift (8am - 8pm IST) for critical support issues Qualifications Required: - 5-7 years of experience building software professionally - 1-3 years of experience managing software engineers - Experience with a modern programming language (e.g., python, go, rust) - Excellent organizational and project management skills - Strong coaching and development skills - Collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate about developing usable software Additional Company Details: MongoDB is dedicated to creating a supportive and enriching culture for its employees.
