Role Overview: At Jacobs, we are seeking a Lead Wastewater Modeler to join our team and contribute to wastewater network projects and different frameworks. As a Lead Wastewater Modeler, you will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects efficiently, ensuring technical excellence and best practices are maintained. Your role will involve model building, verification, system performance analysis, and design improvements to the Wastewater Network. You will also provide guidance to junior staff, plan surveys and investigations, write reports, and ensure health and safety standards are met throughout the projects. Key Responsibilities: - Work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets, exceeding client expectations. - Build and verify models, analyze system performance, and design system improvements for the Wastewater Network. - Develop engineering solutions to address sewer flooding, unsatisfactory overflows, and mitigate the effects of development. - Provide technical guidance and support to junior modelling staff. - Plan and review asset and flow surveys, as well as field investigations. - Drive health and safety practices in project execution. - Communicate effectively with colleagues, engineers, subcontractors, and clients. - Prepare cost estimates for modeling, project design, and construction. - Support project management to ensure successful delivery of technical solutions. Qualifications Required: - Minimum of a Civil Engineering Degree or similar relevant Degree. - 8-20 years of experience in wastewater modeling. - Working knowledge of GIS tools such as MapInfo and ArcGIS. - Proven ability in the water industry focusing on wastewater network solutions. - Experience with wastewater modeling software like InfoNet, InfoWorks CS/ICM, including model build and verification, survey supervision, and design of solutions. - Ability to integrate into a team, provide technical guidance, and independently lead modeling frameworks. - Demonstrated expertise in the outline design of wastewater schemes, sewage pumping systems, and treatment facilities. - Capability to interact directly with clients and stakeholders.
