As a Wastewater Modeller at Jacobs, your role is crucial in supporting our wastewater network projects to meet our growing business needs and future development aspirations. Your primary responsibilities will include collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets while exceeding our clients" expectations. You will be involved in various projects, including model build and verification, understanding system performance using existing or new models, designing system improvements and enhancements to the Wastewater Network, and ensuring technical excellence and best practices are met. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing engineered solutions to mitigate the effects of development, solve sewer flooding issues, and address unsatisfactory overflows. You will provide technical guidance and support to junior modelling staff, plan and review asset and flow surveys, coordinate field investigations, and prepare reports for specific projects. Ensuring health and safety standards are upheld throughout project execution is essential, along with effective communication and collaboration with colleagues, engineers, subcontractors, and clients. Your role will also involve preparing cost estimates for modelling, project design, and construction, as well as supporting management and Project Managers to ensure the successful delivery of technically sound solutions. We value collaboration and prioritize in-person interactions for both our culture and client delivery. Our hybrid working policy empowers employees to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations to facilitate optimal work performance. To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of a Civil Engineering Degree or a relevant equivalent, along with 3-6 years of experience in wastewater modelling. Proficiency in using GIS tools such as MapInfo and ArcGIS is essential, as well as a proven track record in the water industry, focusing on wastewater network solutions. Demonstrable experience with wastewater modelling software like InfoNet, InfoWorks CS/ICM, and the ability to provide technical guidance to modelling staff are key requirements. Your expertise in designing wastewater schemes, sewage pumping systems, and treatment facilities will be highly valued in this role.,

You will be working closely with the engineering teams on wastewater and drainage studies, from feasibility through to detailed design stages. Supervising Graduate Engineers on various wastewater network modelling projects in line with client requirements and reviewing/checking of their work. Setting the technical direction for modelling studies while liaising with lead business. Resolving technical modelling issues on projects and supporting the development of junior modelling staff. Liaising with lead business and other team members to produce good design solutions as per best design practices. Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design. Building a profile in the industry and keeping up-to-date with innovations and developments. Your key responsibilities will include working with InfoWorks ICM SE and InfoWorks CS Modelling Package, as well as MapInfo. Experience with InfoWorks ICM 2D, ArcGIS, and InfoNet is desirable. You should hold a B.E in Civil Engineering and MS/ M.Tech in Water Resources / Environmental Engineering from a recognized University and be a Chartered Engineer. Experience in working with model build, verification, and solution development using InfoWorks ICM SE and InfoWorks CS is required. You should also have sound technical knowledge and experience in wastewater network model updates using manhole, CCTV, and flow surveys. Significant experience with MapInfo GIS package is essential. Experience with flood alleviation schemes and integrated ID / 2D modelling are desirable. Experience with SUDS, sewer rehabilitation, InfoNet, and water quality modelling are also desirable. Resource management/line management experience, project management of modelling projects, and programming scopes of work will be a plus. Familiarity with international codes, standards, and practices related to the UK water industry is required. You should be a strong, self-motivated, and assertive person capable of working under pressure. Good communication and writing skills, along with well-developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team are seen as essential attributes.,
