JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Lead Engineer Mechanical Design

Work experience 8 to 12 years

Education Qualification B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Mode of employment Full-Time Regular

Modality This is a work from office position (no work from home option) Job location Bangalore - Located in Brigade Tech Park Whitefield.

1. Role: This job is placed in Bangalore office. The role requires working with international customers from industrial steel mill equipment and industrial products domain spread across the globe. The job role involves executing and leading the design and development activities of industrial machinery and products. The design includes making a design intuitive 3D designs and manufacturing drawings at various levels bringing value to the customer and the organization. It is also expected a thorough understanding of the basic engineering principles of the products and the application of design philosophies making them configured to new functional and non-functional requirements. 2. Responsibilities: A. Work Execution: 1) Understand the product and its functionalities. 2) Create and Review 3D CAD models in line with best industry practices in the absence of customer standards. 3) Create and Review manufacturing drawings of various levels, part, sub-assy, assembly, layouts, GA etc. 4) Create and Review 3D CAD models from given scan data within required tolerance value of scan and original profile. 5) Capable of developing 3D surfaces using various surface creation/edit options matching them to fit within the model tolerances. B. Project Lead: 1) Prepare project estimations and drive team the in managing the project. 2) Project planning and resource planning. 3) Develop and ensure the team for compliance with internal project execution process. 4) Work closely with the customer focal for scheduled calls/meetings wherever involved in understanding the product/project requirements thoroughly. 5) Create and keep updated all the internal project documents regularly. 6) Prepare and update weekly external and internal project status reports. 7) Drive the team in achieving project goals and KRAs of team members. 8) Develop and mentor collaborative teams. 3. Domain and Tools: a) Heavy Engineering Products and Systems (Industries of steel making, auto cranes, winches, Gas and Steam turbines, Rail maintenance equipment, Printing and Packaging etc.) b) Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Products c) Any of CAD tools like Autodesk Inventor, UG-NX, Creo, Solidworks etc. d) Working knowledge on Hydraulic/Pneumatic domain area 4. Skills: a) Ability to understand mechanical equipment and its working knowledge quickly b) Developing good working relationships with the team and inter multi-disciplinary groups. c) Excellent 3D modelling skills using various surface creation/editing options d) Experience in creating manufacturing drawings complying with ISO, ASME, DIN, EU Standards e) Thorough knowledge on GD&T and its applications on the engineering drawings f) Good drawings / blue prints reading skills g) Managing all the project stakeholders including customer, team and cross functional members. h) Collaborative and supportive on knowledge sharing with the team members i) Excellent written and verbal communication skills j) Effective coordination and negotiation skills
